Press release: September 16, 2024
**
Chiba Prefecture Open Data Connected Ideathon Contest & Exchange Meeting *The four teams that made it through the judging panel will compete in the final presentation! *
The utilization of “open data,” in which data held by local
governments and other organizations is made public, is expected to be a major force in creating new value and resolving regional issues, and Chiba Prefecture is working to further promote the utilization of open data. We are proceeding with initiatives aimed at building momentum and developing human resources to promote this.
As part of this initiative, an event called “Ideathon” will be held at two locations in the prefecture in August, where students studying in the prefecture and living in the prefecture use open data to analyze local issues and come up with ideas that can lead to solutions. The participating students came up with ideas.
In October, we will hold a “contest” in which the participating students will refine their ideas, make a final public presentation, and award outstanding ideas.
In addition, after the awards are over, we will hold a “community meeting” between the participating students and people from
municipalities, companies, and organizations in the prefecture, so please come and see us!
*What is open data?
Data that anyone can use freely within the scope of rules.
This ideathon can mainly use data released by local governments and governments.
*What is an ideathon?
A coined word that combines the words “marathon” and “idea.” It refers to a competition or event where ideas are generated in a short period of time.
This event is an ideathon with the two themes of “disaster prevention” and “regional revitalization” and involves teams forming teams to think through ideas to solve local problems over two days.
The four teams that passed the screening from two venues will make their final presentations!
The presentation will be held online and there will be audience voting, so please come to the venue!
