Royal Mile Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will be offering a support purchase service for the project “Wajima Nuri x Domestic Handmade Whiskey Glasses” aimed at supporting recovery from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake from 12:00 on Saturday, June 29, 2024. We have started recruiting at Makuake. We are still striving to reach our next goal. Situation in August 2024 (Wajima City) Left: Around the morning market, which has been demolished at public expense. Middle: An example of a building awaiting demolition. Right: Road with a sewage pipe protruding from it.
In Wajima City, many years have passed since the earthquake, and although reconstruction is gradually progressing, there are still many buildings waiting to be demolished, and depending on how you look at it, the reality is that the city still looks the same as it did right after the earthquake. .
The roads around Wajima City have been restored to the point where cars can pass through them, but the roads are undulating in many places due to liquefaction and upheavals, and many sewage pipes are popping out.
There is only about a week left until the end of the project, but we have to say that the road to recovery and reconstruction is still a long way off, so we have decided to add a new reward.
* It will be a tough road ahead, so we need the cooperation of as many people as possible! *
* We are looking for people to join us in rebuilding the Wajima lacquerware workshop that was destroyed by the disaster! *
