70th Anniversary of Painting “Tokiwaso’s Only Red” Manga artist Eiko Mizuno’s solo exhibition “Rose Ball” will be held in Ariake, Tokyo from Saturday, September 28th
*Eiko Mizuno, who made her debut as a manga artist at just 15 years old, is celebrating her 70th anniversary this year. His first major solo exhibition will be held at Tokyo Ariake ART SPACE SKY, bringing together works from his early days.

He was the only manga artist who lived in Tokiwa-sou, and his style, which pioneered the era, had a great influence on later manga artists. Eiko Mizuno is sometimes referred to as Onna Tezuka (a female version of Osamu Tezuka) due to her large-scale style.
This year, such a master of the manga world, Eiko Mizuno,
Celebrating 70 years of painting. To commemorate this, an exhibition will be held at Ariake SKY, Tokyo, where you can trace the trajectory of Mizuno’s career and get a panoramic view of Mizuno’s work to date using valuable original drawings and materials.

More than 200 manuscripts will be exhibited in reproductions, ranging from early works to recent works. In addition, there are also valuable original drawings created as homages to Ruzimatov, making this solo exhibition worth seeing for manga lovers, even if they are not fans. The main cover art and representative works will be reproduced as original manuscripts as prints using high-quality piezograph technology, and will be exhibited and sold. All prints are hand-signed by Eiko Mizuno.
Valuable materials from the era that colored Mizuno’s history are displayed, as well as visits by artists and events held each weekend.

1939 Born in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture
When he was in the third grade of elementary school, he saw Osamu Tezuka’s work “Manga University” and became a huge fan.
After that, he continued to submit to “Manga Shonen” magazine. When he was 14 years old, his work “The Little Red-Haired Horse” caught the attention of Osamu Tezuka and was introduced to editor Akira Maruyama.
1955 Debuted in the August issue of “Shoujo Club” with three cut panels and comic strips.
March to October 1958: Moved into Tokiwa-so
Collaborated with Fujio Akatsuka and Shotaro Ishimori (later Ishinomori) to work on U. Maia (pen name).
