“Armor Under the Clothes” (2024)
At Hotel Resol Ueno, as part of our efforts to create a hotel that is rooted in the area of Ueno, where art and downtown harmonize, we have opened an art gallery in the living lobby called Resol. Gallery
In February of this year, we began an initiative to utilize “Ueno” as a place where up-and-coming artists who spread the culture of the future and traveling customers can meet. Since then, it has been enjoyed not only by guests but also by the general public as a place to experience the sensibilities and works of up-and-coming artists. Kaoru Miyamoto becomes the fourth artist.
After graduating from the Nihon University College of Art, Department of Fine Arts, Kaoru received the Yukawa Seisaku Prize in the same year and exhibited his work for the first time at the Kokugakai Exhibition (Kokuten). He won the Kokuten Newcomer Award in 2008 and the Kokuten Associate Member Award for Best Work in 2013, and has since held regular solo exhibitions across the country. Currently, he is active as a member of the Kokugakai, the Japan Federation of Artists, and the Nerima Ward Artists Association.
The works on display this time are characterized by cute colors, such as “Armor Under Clothes” (2024), “Melting” (2024), “Capricorn’s Holiday” (2024), and “Favorite Place” (2024). It is a work of art. Kaoru Miyamoto, who usually specializes in drawing feline animals, will exhibit his representative works of lions and cats, as well as new works depicting animals other than felines.
“Resol Hotels” will continue to weave irreplaceable travel “stories” through hotel operations that thoroughly meet the needs of all travelers.
