In this presentation, we will present the results of research conducted by our association regarding the practice and effects of welfare nail care, with a particular focus on improving and preventing cognitive function. The psychological and physical effects that manicure interventions have on elderly people are attracting attention as part of daily care and communication, and are expected to be a new method for preventing dementia. There will also be time for questions and answers on the day, so please feel free to ask.

* [Background and purpose*]
The Japan Health and Welfare Nail Artist Association has been providing mental and physical care to the elderly, people with disabilities, and people undergoing medical treatment through a new approach that links welfare and beauty. In particular, manicure interventions and nail care promote relaxation and improve
self-esteem, which may also lead to prevention of dementia. In this presentation, we will introduce the impact of these efforts on cognitive function and QOL (quality of life) based on academic data.
