What you want to achieve with the project
As 2024 marks the 750th anniversary of the Mongol invasion of Koan, we, the Mongol Invasion 750th Anniversary Festival Executive Committee, have launched this project with the aim of achieving the following three goals.
* 1. Passing down the history of the Mongol invasion and the bravery of Prince Sosuke to future generations *
Prince Sosuke defended Tsushima with just over 80 cavalry against the former army that led about 30,000 soldiers. Its name has become famous both domestically and internationally, as it has been the subject of manga and games. By holding a grand festival on the 750th anniversary, we hope to once again shed light on the fading history and pass it on to future generations.
What is the honor of Prince Sosuke?
* 2. A catalyst for regional revitalization *
Tourism is one of the important industries in Tsushima, which has been experiencing depopulation in recent years. With the 750th Anniversary Festival as an opportunity, we hope to attract attention both domestically and internationally, attract more tourists, and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.
Overview of Tsushima
Activities that take advantage of the magnificent and rare nature of the mountain forests that occupy approximately 90% of the land and the ria coastline including Aso Bay are popular.
* 3. As a bridge to the next generation*
By holding events for children in the 750th anniversary year, we hope to deepen their understanding of the local history and culture. We also hope that the children who will carry the future will be the ones who will pass on this history.
We strongly hope that with your warm support, we can continue to connect the memories of 750 years ago to the future.

Background of project implementation
The Mongol Invasion was a historical event that defended Japan from invasions by the Yuan army twice in 1274 and 1281. The first stage was Komoda Beach in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Prince Sosuke, who was 68 years old at the time, fought bravely with just over 80 cavalry soldiers, defying the difference in strength of approximately 30,000 troops. Its brave appearance has been passed down as the “guardian deity of Tsushima,” and even now, 750 years later, the “Omodahama Shrine Annual Festival” is held by local residents. In recent years, the manga “Angolmois” and the game “Ghost of He has also appeared in works that are popular both domestically and internationally, such as “Tsushima”. The number of fans who visit Tsushima and shrines as pilgrimages to sacred places is increasing. On the 650th and 700th anniversary of the Mongol Invasion,
commemorative events were held with donations from Tsushima residents and volunteers from local residents, but as the island continues to depopulate, it has become difficult to pass on festivals with high historical value. It is becoming.
Therefore, on this milestone year of 750 years, we have decided to solicit your support through crowdfunding in order to pass on our history to future generations.
As a return, we have amulets and picture stamps limited to the 750th Anniversary of the Mongol Invasion, as well as picture stamps made in collaboration with “Angolmois: Record of the Battle of Mongol Invasion.”
In addition, there are other rewards such as honoring the 750th Anniversary Monument and a set of Tsushima specialty products, so we hope that each supporter can choose a reward that suits their interests.
