50 years after the live recording session at Abbey Road Studios, the live documentary film “Paul McCartney & Wings” will be released in theaters for the first time worldwide.

To commemorate the film’s first theatrical release, it has been decided that a talk event will be held by Sho Wada (TRICERATOPS) and Kunihiko Fujimoto on September 26th (Thursday), the first day of the film’s release.
Sho Wada (TRICERATOPS), who delves into the appeal of the Beatles from a musician’s perspective and is especially known as a big fan of Paul McCartney, and Kunihiko Fujimoto, who has written many books as a Beatles researcher and also supervised the subtitles of this work. A talk event between the two, who are well-versed in the background of this film and have often had discussions, will be held at TOHO Cinemas.
The event will be held after the screening in Hibiya. Please enjoy the first screen screening on a large screen and powerful Dolby Atmos sound!
Additionally, prior to the screening, the set list that will be performed in this film has been released. The powerful band session by Paul McCartney & Wings, who welcomed new members in 1974, and Paul’s rare solo acoustic performance, which will be unveiled for the first time, are both full of highlights.
The film will be screened for one day on Dolby Atmos screens on September 26th (Thursday), and will be expanded to theaters nationwide from October 4th (Friday), including regular screens. Born in 1975. Vocalist and guitar player of TRICERATOPS, a rock band that made its major debut in 1997. Also in charge of songwriting. Their songs based on positive lyrics and riffs, their high-quality melody sense, and their overwhelming performance skills cultivated through live performances have garnered great praise from a wide range of people. He started his solo career in 2018 and has released three albums so far. He was also in charge of the music for “Musical Nodame Cantabile,” which was performed last year. The interviews were demixed using Wingnut’s MAL software and given a new Atmos audio mix by Steve Orchard and Giles Martin. In addition to the film directed by David Litchfield, this theatrical release will also feature a previously unreleased backyard session featuring Paul McCartney playing beloved songs from his catalog on acoustic guitar. Highlights include the unreleased song “Blackpool” and personal favorites like “Twenty Flight Rock,” which he played when he first met John Lennon. The theatrical release will also feature a theatrically exclusive introduction shot by Paul McCartney, as well as previously unreleased Polaroid photos from the recording session.
“One Hand Clapping” showcased the new lineup of Wings, who had just returned from Nashville where they recorded the single “Junior’s Farm.” After the sudden departure of Denny Seiwell and Henry McCulloch just before the recording of Wings’ masterpiece “Band on the Run,” released in 1973, Paul, Linda, and Denny Laine became guitarists. The band welcomed new members Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Jeff Britton. Also in the studio were orchestral arranger Del Newman and saxophonist Howie Casey.
This work opens with an instrumental jam that can be said to be the theme song of “One Hand Clapping”, and is full of captivating live performances that touch the hearts of the viewers. “007
Wings’ famous songs such as “They’re the ones who die”, “Band on the Run”, “Jet”, and “My Love” will be performed one after another in a studio live format. In the film, Paul talks about the joys of being in a band, his songwriting process, and how, at the age of 14, he thought he might have a future as a cabaret singer.
You’ll hear from members of the band about their experiences working with Paul as part of Wings, and you’ll also see Paul playing alongside Linda, as well as drummer Jeff Britton’s impressive karate.
“One Hand Clapping” will be a work that celebrates the unwavering achievements of Paul McCartney & Wings.
This work captures the moment Wings discovered and established their unique sound. Just as Paul shaped popular culture with the Beatles a decade earlier, he did the same with Wings in the ’70s.
