“What is period? ~Let’s think about ourselves and others~” held *Held at Kawaramachi Opa with the theme of ~Towards a world where menstruation is no longer considered taboo~*
At Kawaramachi Opa (hereinafter referred to as “this facility”), we offer a series of questions such as “What is menstruation?” ~Let’s think about ourselves and others~” (hereinafter referred to as “this project”) will be held as follows.
Purpose of the event
The event will be held with the aim of removing the taboo surrounding menstruation and promoting wellness for women.
Through this project, we offer an opportunity for both those who experience menstruation and those who do not, to deepen their understanding of menstruation and to think about their partners, friends, and others as well as themselves.
Event overview
Five events will be held during the period.
・Period: Saturday, September 28, 2024, Sunday, September 29, 2024 ・Time: 11:00-19:00
・Venue: Kawaramachi Opa 1st floor, in-store event space
*1. Quiz booth to deepen your understanding of menstruation* Situation from the previous event
We will conduct a true/false quiz about menstruation.
Participants can participate in crane games and deepen their understanding while having fun.
*2. Menstrual concerns board*

We provide a place to share the discomforts of menstruation that are difficult to talk about.
Paste the messages you have written on the board to visualize your concerns and voices.
3. *Femcare related products and services exhibition*
Booths will be set up to display goods and services including femcare from various companies.
Femcare, which relieves discomfort during menstruation, can be purchased at the on-site shop.
We will also introduce femtech products.
* 4. You can talk to the midwife! Consultation booth*
Yurie Kayaba, a midwife active in Kyoto Prefecture
You can feel free to consult with a midwife about any physical issues that you are having trouble with.
If you wish, you can talk while receiving lymphatic care below the elbow using aromatherapy.
(Free. Approximately 5 to 15 minutes per person)
*This event will be held from 14:00 to 17:00 on both days.
5. *Sanitary products collection event*
In collaboration with the NPO “A customer has arrived.”
A “sanitary product collection box” was set up for the purpose of donating sanitary products to those suffering from menstrual poverty. The collected sanitary products will be distributed to welfare facilities and individuals in Kyoto City at a later date.
*Recyclable sanitary products must be unopened or opened less than a year ago, with half or more remaining.

This project will be held jointly with the NPO “A Customer Has Come”, which is mainly active in Kansai university and graduate school students. This is the fourth time we have worked with the NPO “A Customer Has Come”.
