Currently, electric vehicles (EVs) use high-power motors and inverters of tens of kilowatts or more, and self-driving cars have introduced millimeter-wave radars of tens of GHz or more and high-speed digital communications such as 5G communication. On the other hand, ensuring EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) performance is essential in the design and development of vehicles, and with the introduction of high-power power electronics and high-speed information and
communication equipment, EMC requirements are becoming increasingly strict.
This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of the latest automotive EMC measures. First, accurate measurements are required, and it is important to select the appropriate measuring equipment for this purpose. We will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the characteristics, differences, and usage of each measuring instrument. Additionally, in order to avoid mutual interference and crosstalk issues and manage radio waves appropriately, it is necessary to understand the standards correctly. We will also provide a detailed explanation of the standards and types. Additionally, we will discuss how to identify problems and resolve them efficiently, rather than using a “cut and try” approach when it comes to EMC countermeasures. 1.
