From junior high school to becoming the manager of an international accounting firm in the United States
Kaishi Sosou High School (opened in April 2025), a wide-area correspondence system, is holding a series of “Open Global Career Courses” online with internationally active Japanese instructors (planning and management: Lighthouse) .
The purpose of this public lecture is to convey to young people with limitless possibilities the idea of a wide range of career paths that go beyond national borders, as well as practical wisdom for surviving in the world. Each time, we invite lecturers who are active in various fields around the world to talk about how to build a global career and the “stimulation and joy” they have gained from working with diverse people on the world stage.
The lecturer for the eighth and final episode of the series is Hiroshi Ishigami, who runs accounting firms in Japan and the United States. Inspired by the basketball manga “SLAM DUNK”, he decided to study basketball in the United States when he was in junior high school. Although he entered high school, he dropped out after the first semester of his first year, worked part-time to save money, and finally moved to the United States at the age of 18. Having spent his school days in the United States, he aspired to pursue the same path in taxation as his father, and after graduating from university, he gained experience at accounting firms in Japan and the United States before starting his own business, which he continues to do today. Mr. Ishigami will talk about a wide range of topics, including his way of thinking positively in the face of adversity, his spirit of challenge, and his current lifestyle as he travels around the world.
Participation is free, but advance reservations are required. If you would like to participate, please apply using the form below. https://bit.ly/KAISHI2024
