・Author introduction (Souichi Kadokawa)
Born in Osaka in 1949. From Kitano High School, he entered the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University. Dropped out in 1973.
From August 1975 to 1985, he covered the history of bond market liberalization in detail as a reporter for a bond specialty newspaper (Koshenbon Shimbun, Nippon Bond Shimbun (both currently defunct). Mainly publishes analysis and commentary articles. I feel very fortunate to have been able to witness the early days of Japan’s secondary bond market.
After retiring from a specialized newspaper company and becoming independent, he posted and serialized many financial, economic, and money articles in business magazines, financial industry magazines, money magazines, etc. At the same time, he has written numerous educational texts on economics, finance, and investment (bonds, stocks, foreign exchange, interest rate/yield calculations), as well as correspondence courses. From around 2000, in addition to
enlightening articles, he began publishing financial reviews in newspapers, magazines, and economic magazine websites.
Around 1990, after discovering the Macintosh, he began seriously creating a database of investment trusts (individual funds). Established Financial Data System Co., Ltd. and published Japan’s first investment trust data book. Furthermore, we started evaluation activities for investment trusts for the first time in Japan, including creating and publishing a collection of charts on the performance of individual funds. Data was continuously provided to four major securities companies, investment trust companies, megabanks, financial information vendors, and university research laboratories. However, around 2008, we withdrew from the investment trust data analysis business as major foreign companies and newspaper companies entered the field of investment trust evaluation in earnest.
Meanwhile, after becoming independent, he has been involved in many trainings and lectures at financial institutions, economic
organizations, financial education institutions, various FP centers, etc. The main themes are economic/financial mechanisms and basic skills for developing market sense. We offer association games using “4K1B diagrams” that we independently developed to improve economic and financial literacy, as well as a data watching learning program using actual Nikkei newspapers, as well as economic and investment analysis techniques that make full use of various data. It has been well received. The things I always keep in mind are “formulating a hypothesis,” “verifying it with empirical data,” “viewing economic phenomena in an associative manner,” “observing data from a fixed point,” and “minimum economic and economic research to detect bias in media information.” Must have the ability to search for financial data.
His major publications include “You’ll be able to understand 100% of economic movements!
There are books such as “Notes on how interest rates work” (Takarajimasha), “A course to improve investment skills to become better at financial data” (Nihon Keizai Shimbun), and “How to navigate the Nihon Keizai Shimbun” (Business Education Publishing).
