From October 1st, we will be participating in the “EV road car sharing social experiment using road space” conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
*～Deployment of “Times Car” EV vehicles on national highways around JR Osaka Station～*
Times Mobility Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Norifumi Kawakami) will be participating in the “EV road car sharing social experiment using road space” (hereinafter referred to as “EV road car sharing social experiment using road space”), which will be conducted by the Kinki Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism from October 1st. We will participate in this social experiment as a car sharing operator and will deploy five EV vehicles at car sharing stations set up on National Highways 1 and 2.
In this social experiment, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has opened car sharing stations at five locations on National Routes 1 and 2 near railway stations such as JR Osaka Station as a carbon neutral initiative in the road sector. The event will be carried out by deploying EV vehicles.
Will the opening of car sharing stations on the streets around stations improve transportation convenience? How much will the number of trips that combine rail and EV car sharing increase and how much will CO2 emissions be reduced thereby? We will examine the use of EV road car sharing stations during disasters.
In addition, 100% renewable electricity will be used for EV charging and opening and closing of the chain gate in this social experiment, and the station will be operated in a carbon-neutral manner.
In addition to operating the car-sharing service in this social experiment, our company will cooperate in the maintenance and management of the car-sharing stations set up on the road, providing the usage data necessary for verification, and publicizing activities to Times Car members.
Times Mobility will continue to participate in various social experiments through “Times Car” and promote efforts to deploy car sharing vehicles at transportation nodes and utilize EV car sharing, thereby contributing to reducing environmental impact and providing comfortable and comfortable vehicles. We aim to create a comfortable mobile environment.
