As the existence of young carers becomes more apparent and attracts attention from society, we will discuss how to expand the circle of support from the perspectives of both former carers and those providing support, under the theme of “Let’s expand the circle of knowing, being aware, and supporting each other.” Will it be expanded or discussed? Program/Contents
In this event, we welcomed comedian Kiyoto (Bad Boys/Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd.) as a guest for the keynote speech in the first part, and he gave a lecture on the theme of “The form of kindness that I think of as a young carer who has lived in the middle of my life.” Masu. Kiyoto is a former young carer from Fukuoka who lived with his visually impaired grandmother when he was a child, and this year he published the manga “Obabako” which describes his childhood experiences.
In the second part of the panel discussion, former young carers were invited, and Mr. Hiroyuki Kubota, director of the Fukuoka City Youth Comprehensive Counseling Youth Support Hub, and the coordinator of the Fukuoka City Young Carer Consultation Desk spoke about their respective positions. We will discuss the current situation, challenges, and prospects for support in Japan.
