Isn’t that right! Ise City Station Tsukinomiya Street Park 2nd Machinaka Walkable Social Experiment
……
■What is Machinaka Walkable (a town that is comfortable and makes you want to walk)?
As the population declines, the birthrate declines and the aging population progresses, there are concerns about a decline in regional vitality due to shuttered shopping streets and other factors. Many cities have in common the need to improve the attractiveness of their cities and create liveliness in their neighborhoods. is required. In addition, amidst these social conditions, changes are coming to the way cities operate, and there is a desire for road spaces to shift from spaces centered on cars to spaces centered on people.
Therefore, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has adopted the following keywords: walkable (makes you want to walk), eye level (the first floor is open to the city), diversity (diverse uses and uses by a variety of people), and open (comfortable open space) We are promoting urban development.
Ise City is also working on a walkable town promotion project with the aim of creating a town that is comfortable and makes you want to walk around.
■We will conduct a social experiment!
We will conduct a social experiment to create a space that utilizes the eaves space and lodging space that will serve as a place for pedestrians to stay in the pedestrian area and part of the roadway, and to promote the creation of a walkable town that is “comfortable and makes you want to walk.” .
The social experiment consisted of a facility where pedestrians can take a break on the city road in front of the Ise City Ekimae shopping district, and a plaza adjacent to the city road to read picture books and draw pictures.
We will create a comfortable space where everyone can take a short break, chat, read, eat and drink by setting up spaces where children can play with toys. We are very close to the Ise Festival venue, which will be held from October 12th to 13th, so please stop by. In this experiment, visitors can relax and try out various activities to examine the kind of space needed and the effects of the flow of cars and people. We will utilize the verification results obtained through traffic volume, length of stay, and questionnaire surveys for future urban development.
