Mikio Kurihara (Kurihara Mikio) has set up a new “photo spot” at Meijigura, a historic tourist facility in Kawagoe City, Koedo Kurari (Kawagoe City Industrial Tourism Center).
Inside the building, which is a registered tangible cultural property of the country and retains the atmosphere of the Meiji era, a special large lantern bearing the name of Koedo Kurari and a series of beautiful and colorful otomedama are installed, attracting visitors. fascinates you.
This special large lantern is a size 35 (approximately 105cm x 135cm) large round Japanese paper lantern, and is a specially designed and original one.
This large lantern, suspended from a beam in the center of the Meiji warehouse, blends in with the historic building and provides the ideal backdrop for kimono-clad visitors.
It creates an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you are in a special space that transcends time.
Furthermore, “Otomedama” are water balloons manufactured by a business in the city that create a dreamlike atmosphere with flower petals spreading beautifully on the water surface.
The fusion of traditional beauty and modern elements, combined with the special large lanterns, makes it the perfect photo spot to brighten up your special moment.

* About Koedo Kura-sato (Kawagoe City Industrial Tourism Center) * Koedo Kurari is a former Kagamiyama Sake Brewery that was founded in 1875, and has been renovated to retain some of its original features. There are three breweries within the facility: “Omiyage-dokoro (Meiji-gura)”, “Makanai-dokoro (Taisho-gura)”, and
“Kikizake-dokoro (Showa-gura)”, which were renovated sake breweries built in the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. There is a “Tsudoi-dokoro (exhibition warehouse)”. This facility, designated as a registered tangible cultural property by the government, aims to promote interaction between citizens and tourists and revitalize the area.
