Benesse Corporation (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, President and CEO: Hitoshi Kobayashi, hereinafter referred to as “Benesse”) will begin using a virtual space (Metaverse) for high school students from Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Start. |
In recent years, in schools, there has been a need for new ways of supporting students, such as the diversification of career paths and entrance exam methods, and students who choose not to attend school. Therefore, Benesse has focused on the Metaverse as a way to provide an environment that makes it easier for as many teachers and students as possible to take on the challenge of learning and taking exams. |
As the first step in our attempt to utilize the Metaverse, we will begin using the Metaverse as a venue for mock exams. Regarding Benesse's mock test “Shinken Mock Test,” Metaverse will also be added to the test venue, allowing individual students who do not take the mock test at school to take the test. Candidates can take Benesse's mock exams from their homes, etc., regardless of time or place. Furthermore, in the future, we will utilize this metaverse space to provide a “community outside of school where students can be more proactive, encourage each other, and even find rivals.'' |
Overview of the service that will start this time |
For mock exams using Metaverse, students can apply individually and take the exam by gathering at a mock exam venue set up on Metaverse. The subjects that can be taken and the content of the exam are the same as the previous Shinken mock exam. Check your scoring results and your desired school decision online. You can easily test your skills anytime, anywhere, depending on your personal circumstances. |
If you move from the exam hall to the community room, you can use your avatar to communicate with other students by voice or chat before and after taking the exam. |
| *: In national mock exams with over 100,000 examinees (as of September 2016, researched by Benesse Corporation) |

1. “Mock exam” can be taken individually Individuals can apply for mock exams using Metaverse. We will create an opportunity to take the test even for students who are not in an environment where they can take the test at school. |
| |
|
2. You can take the exam regardless of location Since it utilizes a virtual space, as long as you have an internet connection, you can take the test from your home, study room, or any other location of your choice, regardless of the time. This greatly reduces the time and cost burden on students. In addition, since it is possible to take the exam for each subject separately, it is designed so that even students who have difficulty setting aside a set amount of time can take the exam. |
| |
|
3. Quick and accurate scoring/reliable judgment We have devised ways to submit answers and score them, and with the online method, we will return the score results on the same day if using the mark sheet method, or within 1 to 2 weeks if using the written method. In addition, we will provide reliable methods for determining your desired school and taking measures, just as we do for schools. |
| |
|
4. Price that makes it easy for many high school students to take the exam | By providing data online rather than on paper, we offer the test at a price that makes it easy for students to take the test multiple times. |
