| “Current status and future of procurement operations” |
| This session will discuss the challenges facing modern procurement operations and the role they will play in the future. |
| First, the current state of procurement operations includes the difficulty of maintaining a balance between supply and demand and the importance of cost control. Furthermore, we will delve into the role that the procurement department should play, including the need for the procurement department to be involved from the product development stage. |
| Next, we will consider what will be required of future procurement operations. We will focus on the possibilities and limitations of DX and AI, as well as changes in the skills and roles needed for procurement personnel, as well as the challenges inherent in Japan's unique procurement system. |
| Finally, regarding human resource development in the procurement department, we discussed the need for human resources with a consultant perspective and the importance of building relationships with business partners, and clarified the type of human resources required for future procurement operations. I will continue to do so. |
