On October 1st (Tuesday), Aeon Retail will participate in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's “Household Zero Emission Action Promotion Project,'' which will be revamped from the same day. When selling energy-saving home appliances to customers living in Tokyo, we will begin offering immediate discounts equivalent to Tokyo Zero Emi Points. |
The “Household Zero Emission Action Promotion Project” aims to encourage households to save energy in order to achieve “Carbon Half,” which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 2000. This is a business promoted by Under the old system, when Tokyo residents replaced the air conditioners, refrigerators, water heaters, and lighting equipment installed in their homes with products with high energy-saving performance, they could receive gift certificates by applying directly to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government after purchasing the products. “Tokyo Zero Emi Points” that can be exchanged for etc. were given. |
Starting in October, the new system will be implemented, eliminating the need for customers to apply to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and customers will receive an immediate discount at checkout when purchasing replacement energy-saving home appliances at retail stores participating in the project. Additionally, new purchases of air conditioners and refrigerators are also eligible. |
Based on the “Aeon Decarbonization Vision” formulated in 2018, Aeon is reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its stores from the three perspectives of “stores,” “products and logistics,” and “together with customers.” We are promoting various initiatives to reduce emissions. |
Aeon Retail agrees with the purpose of this project, and as a general retailer with a wide range of contacts with customers, will participate in the new system starting in October to support the purchase of energy-saving home appliances at a good price. The amount equivalent to “Tokyo Zero Emi Points” will be discounted at checkout. |
As the retail company closest to our customers' lives, AEON Retail will continue to work with our customers to do what we can in their daily lives to help realize a decarbonized society. |
