| The Mother Lake Goals (MLGs) Promotion Committee holds multiple workshops each year to promote the Mother Lake Goals (MLGs), the Lake Biwa version of the SDGs, which aims to achieve the goals in 2030. . |
| This time, we will be holding two events related to reeds, sponsored by Maruyoshi, a specified non-profit organization, and co-sponsored by the Maruyama Nature and Culture Preservation Association and the Mother Lake Goals Promotion Committee. Please take this opportunity to enjoy various experiences using reeds, which are attracting attention as they will be used in the pavilions at the Osaka/Kansai Expo. |

| [What is Mother Lake Golds (MLGs)] |
| SDGs are 17 goals set by the United Nations with the aim of realizing a sustainable society by 2030. “MLGs” is the Lake Biwa version of “SDGs”. |
| On July 1, 2021, the “Mother Lake Goals (MLGs)” were established, focusing on Lake Biwa, our mother lake, and contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. |
| Shiga Prefecture and its citizens worked together to create the unique goal “MLGs,” which aims to protect Lake Biwa and nature and build a healthy cycle that connects the environment with economic and social activities.The catchphrase is “Let's make a change. From you and me.” Each individual working independently and expanding the circle of “MLGs” will be a big step toward achieving the SDGs in 2030. |
