Henri Giraud Japan will be releasing “PR 90 – 20” from October 1st (Tuesday). “Perpetual Reserve” is made by repeatedly adding to the previous year’s reserve wine every year, and mixing elements from numerous vintages. Henri Giraud was the first to adopt this method in Champagne and has continued to maintain it for generations to this day. This “Perpetual Reserve” is cultivated in an underground tank located on the banks of the Marne River in the best aging environment that can naturally maintain a constant temperature of approximately 10.5 degrees throughout the year, and the accumulation of vintages has melted various aromas. This process softens the texture, rounds the flavor, and allows the wine to grow. “PR 90-20” is made using 100% of this precious reserve wine. It is a blend of two types of Perpetual Reserve, the Cuvée (from 1990 to 2020) that started the Reserve in 1990 and is usually used for Feu de Chène MV, and the Cuvée that started the Reserve in the 1950s. The cuvée for Esprit Nature is used. This series took over 10 years to complete by brewer Sebastian Le Golve. Aromas of toast, grapefruit, dried orange, and chalk with hints of clove. Bright, lively and full of energy, dry and tense, with a sophisticated wine-like taste. You can feel the sense of maturity created by the passage of time, and the lightness of air at the same time. You can enjoy it either immediately or after aging. Henri Giraud “PR 90 – 20” product information

Henri Giraud, who recently replaced the 12th generation head Claude Giraud with his eldest daughter Emmanuel Giraud, is aiming to further improve Champagne. More than 30 years ago, when the use of chemicals was the norm, we decided to use Triple Zero – no herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides, and a few years ago soil analysis only detected
microgram-level fungal molecules. A field. Healthy grapes grown with great care and respect for nature. Custom-made oak barrels are made from carefully selected oak trees by brewmaster Sebastian Le Golve himself in the Argonne Forest, a traditional barrel-producing region located approximately 70km northeast of Reims, the center of the Champagne region. All of this results in a Champagne that perfectly captures the energy of the terroir.
