Association, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)). The theme of this year’s Okinawa booth is “#Welcome back Okinawa.” We will be recreating an old folk house that gives you a nostalgic feel, and we will be
transmitting content that gives you a sense of Okinawa, such as eisa and sanshin performances, and workshops. There will be performances of Okinawan folk songs by Mr. Taisuke Yonaguni, the Okinawa Tourism Ambassador, karate demonstrations unique to Okinawa, the birthplace of karate, and Ryukyu Festival Taiko drums by the Eisa group. We have prepared programs that will give you a greater sense of Okinawa, such as a dance performance by “Iko” and a key chain making experience using microplastics organized by the Okinawa Churashima Foundation.

It is a traditional martial art for the purpose of self-defense and mental and physical training, and is characterized by a spirituality that values civility and peace, which has been nurtured through the history and climate of Okinawa. A demonstration of traditional Okinawan karate will be performed.
