Orange ribbon awareness poster Morgenroth Medical Corporation (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Hiroyuki Kogure) has joined the certified NPO National Network for Child Abuse Prevention (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Chairman: Ryo Kawamatsu) in the “Orange Ribbon Movement to Prevent Child Abuse”. We agreed with the idea, registered it as a support group, and started educational activities that transcend generations. This initiative is an important step toward realizing our organization’s mission of “creating a society where people can give birth and raise children with smiles and peace of mind.” Background and development of the Orange Ribbon Movement The Orange Ribbon Movement began in 2004 after a tragic case of child abuse that occurred in Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture. In 2005, a local organization called Kangaroo Oyama launched this movement with the aim of preventing child abuse, and it later developed with the help of the NPO An Foundation Project for Supporting Foster Children. Since 2006, the National Network for the Prevention of Child Abuse, a certified NPO, has become the general point of contact, and activities have expanded nationwide. The orange ribbon was chosen as a color that symbolizes a bright future for children, and has become a symbol of a citizen movement aiming for a society free of abuse. Activity overview Period: August 29th to September 7th, 2024 Content: ・ Poster display and donation box installation in the clinic (August 29th to September 7th) ・Held a street fundraiser around Toyosu Station on August 30th ・Distribution of awareness leaflets around Toyosu Station on August 30th Result ・Donation: 23,678 yen ・Awareness flyer distribution: 200 pieces Clinic as a base for awareness activities 1. Installation of orange ribbon corner A dedicated space has been set up in the waiting room to provide information on the Orange Ribbon Movement and resources for child-rearing support, thereby continually educating patients and their families about the importance of preventing child abuse. 2. Information dissemination using digital signage We are also considering using digital signage in the clinic to regularly display information about the Orange Ribbon Movement and child-rearing support, and using AI to provide information tailored to the attributes of visitors. Through these efforts, Morgenroth’s clinic embodies the philosophy of the Orange Ribbon Movement and aims to become a community-based base for childcare support and abuse prevention.
