JTEKT Corporation (Headquarters: Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO: Sadato Kondo, hereinafter “JTEKT”) will join the Fuel Cell Commercialization Conference of Japan* (hereinafter “FCCJ”) in 2024. I joined on October 1st. With the JTEKT Group 2030 VISION, JTEKT aims to become a “solution provider that creates the future of a mobility society through manufacturing and manufacturing equipment.” The JTEKT Group utilizes a technology platform (hereinafter referred to as “Techpla”) that brings together competencies such as elemental technologies and knowledge related to products and manufacturing equipment, and combines these competencies to find solutions to problems within the company and society. We are proceeding with the opening of a solution co-creation center (hereinafter referred to as “Sorisen”) that will propose solutions. Our recent membership in FCCJ aims to further expand the practical application of fuel cells by leveraging the JTEKT Group’s competence and co-creating with the knowledge of member companies.

hydrogen-related products based on the fluid technology cultivated through hydraulic power steering. In 2014, we began supplying high-pressure hydrogen valves and pressure reducing valves to commercially available hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and continue to do so today. With the need to achieve carbon neutrality, we are moving forward with our business activities to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality and the development of a hydrogen society by providing customer-oriented solutions tailored to various market needs and scenes. I have joined the Battery Commercialization Promotion Council. In the future, we will propose hydrogen-related products that meet various scenes and needs, not only for passenger cars, but also for large-scale mobility areas such as commercial vehicles, construction machinery, railways, and ships, as well as for use in drones, which are expected to become popular. I will continue to do so. Through co-creation with customers, we can put into practice the highest priority of JTEKT’s basic philosophy of “For the Earth, for the world, and for our customers,” and create a hydrogen society that will lead to the realization of a carbon-neutral and
recycling-oriented society. We will continue to contribute to its development. *What is the Fuel Cell Practical Promotion Council? Established in March 2001. We will carry out concrete studies to solve the problems for the practical application and popularization of fuel cells in Japan, compile them as policy recommendations, make efforts to solve the problems by member companies themselves, and reflect them in various national policies. The aim is to popularize and put fuel cells into practical use in Japan, and thereby contribute to the development of Japan’s fuel cell industry.
