~Message from the German Embassy~ The “German Festival” was started 13 years ago under the auspices of our embassy. The festival, which has been held regularly ever since, offers a wealth of content, including German products, food culture, and a diverse program. Approximately 30,000 people visit each time, and thanks to everyone’s support, it has become one of the most popular cultural events held in Tokyo. This year’s “German Festival” will be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Aoyama Park from November 1st to 4th, 2024. Commemorative events are being held this year in both Berlin and Tokyo. A panel exhibition commemorating the exchange will be held at the German Festival as well. We hope you will learn about the history and charm of the exchange between our two cities. ●200th anniversary of Beethoven’s Ninth premiere 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. On Sunday, November 3rd, Haruhiko Mimata (N Symphony Orchestra) and the German Festival String Orchestra will perform a special version of the fourth movement of “The Ninth” with chorus. This year, Germany’s Bundesliga soccer team will be promoting cage football together with the Bundesliga Cup! In addition, the mascot from the Dortmund team will also appear!
