Mini talk show and photo session with winning jockey Ruse Sakai At Tokyo City Horse Racing (TCK), today, October 2nd (Wednesday), the top 3-year-old horses in the domestic dirt world from all over the country will gather for the final race of the 3-year-old dirt triple crown race, “Japan Dirt Classic (JpnI)”. (hereinafter referred to as JDC). Issei Takahashi, who serves as this year’s TCK image character, came to the venue and served as the JDC award ceremony presenter, and also held a mini talk show before the race, further enlivening the TCK crowd of fans!
At the mini talk show, Takahashi appeared in a black tuxedo waving his hands. When asked about the atmosphere at Oi Racecourse and his impressions of watching the races live, he said with a big smile, “I’ve been watching the races since noon, and I’m really excited by the open feeling and the enthusiasm and cheers from everyone.” When asked how he would like to enjoy the Twinkle Race in his private time, he said, “I would like to have a drink at the Twinkle Barbecue and enjoy the horse racing.” It was the first year the new dirt triple crown race was established. Regarding his feelings about being chosen as the image character at such a timing, he said, “Honestly, I was really surprised.The theme of this year’s TCK was very similar to my attempt to take on challenges from my daily life, so it was very easy to act. It was an honor,” he said while responding to the cheers of the fans. Mr. Takahashi chose Sunrise Zipangu as the JDC’s featured horse. “The person who first introduced me to horse racing was jockey Yutaka Take, and I’m looking forward to watching Sunrise Zipangu, who I’ll be riding today,” he said with high expectations. Lastly, he said, “I would like to work with Ann Nakamura, Fumiya Takahashi, and all the fans who serve as TCK’s image characters to make TCK more exciting.In addition to the 3-year-old dirt triple crown race, tomorrow I will also be competing in the Tokyo Cup race. I look forward to enjoying the fierce battle with everyone,” he said, receiving a big round of applause from the gathered fans. At the award ceremony, a crystal trophy commemorating the victory, which shines under the night lights, will be presented to the horse owner.
