As the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline in the world, Turkish Airlines has introduced “The World’s Oldest Bread” to its in-flight menu on select Business Class flights. The new bread is made from ancient wheats grown in the Anatolian region, emmer and single wheat, and reflects the rich history of Anatolia, the cradle of civilization. Turkish Airlines offers its guests a unique culture that combines tradition and innovation through its in-flight meals. This new menu was officially launched on TK3 flight from Istanbul to New York on September 22, 2024. The first flight screened films shot in Göbeklitepe, Karakhantepe and the Euphrates River region in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. The bread, which is heated before the meal and served with butter and olive oil in a special bag, is intended for business class passengers on intercontinental international flights. The Tash-Teperel region is said to be the site of the first transition from a hunter-gatherer society to a sedentary agricultural society, and it was here that wheat was first cultivated.
