Replacement keycap sets fully compatible with HHKB Studio will be on sale starting October 25th. These keycaps have been developed in collaboration between the well-known keycap brand “Keyreative” and the keyboard specialty site “Greenkeys.”
GreenEchoes Studio (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) will begin selling the HHKB Studio Kit, fully compatible with HHKB Studio, from noon (12:00 PM) on October 25, 2024. Keyreative (Head office: BIG CAT ELECTRONICS LIMITED, Hong Kong) will manufacture and distribute the keycaps, while GreenEchoes Studio handles promotion in Japan. These keycap sets will be available for HHKB Studio users worldwide.
For those who register for “latest information update notifications” before the release, special discount coupon codes will be distributed just before the launch. A “present campaign” in collaboration with Keyreative Official X is also planned.

Birth of a Keycap Set Fully Compatible with HHKB Studio
HHKB Studio, an all-in-one device launched on October 25, 2023, has garnered much attention. The newly released “Snow” model, introduced on October 2, 2024, further boosts the appeal of this streamlined keyboard. With its Cherry MX standard key switch, users can now enjoy third-party keycaps compatible with Cherry MX, adding a new layer of customization that was previously unavailable.
However, HHKB Studio’s unique features, such as its pointing stick, required special shapes for keys like “G”, “H”, and “B”. The space bar length and stabilizer positions also differ from general products, making compatibility an issue. The HHKB Studio Kit, jointly developed by GreenEchoes Studio and Keyreative, solves these problems and allows users to fully customize their HHKB Studio.
*Note: The HHKB Studio Kit must be used in conjunction with the Base Kit to replace all keycaps.
What’s Included in the HHKB Studio Kit
- Specially shaped “G”, “H”, and “B” keycaps
- Special-sized space bar
- Two keys for the backspace split position
- Specially sized “Backspace” key located above the Enter key*
*Some keys may be omitted if already included in the Base Kit.
Customization Options
Three types of keycap sets can be combined with the HHKB Studio Kit:
- KAT Operater (Designed by Biip)
- KAT White on Black Extensions (Designed by Biip)
- KAT White on Black Candy (Designed by Ice)
To use these sets with HHKB Studio, both the Base Kit and HHKB Studio Kit must be purchased together. KAT White on Black Extensions and KAT White on Black Candy can be further customized with the Accent Kit or Novelties Kit for a more personalized look.
