Vehicle with blue lion head mark In Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Karatsu Shrine’s annual autumn festival “Karatsu Kunchi” will be held from Saturday, November 2nd to Monday, November 4th (holiday). This year also marks the 200th anniversary since Karatsu Kunchi’s second Yama Aojishi was created. In line with this, the JR Kyushu Saga Railway Division will be distributing trains with 14 types of “Karatsu Kunchi head marks” designed with Karatsu Kunchi’s Hikiyama from October 11th (Friday) to November 10th (Saturday). It will operate on the Chikuhi Line (between Chikuzen-Maebaru Station and Karatsu Station/Nishikarutsu Station). You can enjoy different types of head mark designs for each formation. The Headmark train will continue to operate as it did last year (last year was the first time it operated in 14 years). *Cannot be installed on 303 series and 305 series cars. *A departure ceremony will not be held for the start of service.
