In October 2023, an innovative workshop was held at the natural hot spring Komaki Raku no Yu in order to respond to local issues. Under the leadership of the NPO Komaki Citizen Network, students from Aichi Prefectural Komaki High School have come up with ideas on the theme of “new ways to use public baths,” and have created an innovative project to solve problems in the region, especially those suffering from a lack of study space. A proposal was born. That is the “public bath study room”. New initiatives to address local issues Self-study environments in Komaki City are limited, and the city’s main library, the Komaki City Central Library, becomes crowded, especially during test periods, and many students have difficulty finding a place to study. In response, high school students proposed the novel idea of ​​using public baths as study spaces for students who are unable to concentrate at home.
