Yamanashi Prefecture (Governor: Kotaro Nagasaki) will hold the “Yamanashi Media Arts Award” to promote the career development of artists and provide an opportunity for creative activities in the prefecture. This contest is an open recruitment program that solicits works from both Japan and abroad, honors highly original works, and provides a venue for presentation and an opportunity to appreciate the winning works. We are now accepting applications for the “Yamanashi Media Arts Award 2024-25” as follows. 1. Recruitment We will be recruiting works from September 27th (Friday) to December 2nd (Monday), 2020. Eligible works can be viewed, executed, operated, and recorded on the web, and the genre of the work does not matter as long as it is an original expression. 2. Awards The following awards will be selected after a review by a judging committee based on criteria such as whether the entries use media and technology appropriate for highly original projects and fresh expressions. ・Y-GOLD (Grand Prize): Certificate, supplementary prize 500,000 yen (1 point) ・Y-SILVER (Excellence Award) : Certificate, supplementary prize 200,000 yen (2 points) ・Y-CRYSTAL (Yamanashi Prefecture Award*): Certificate, supplementary prize 500,000 yen (1 point) *Works that create new value and meaning for Yamanashi Prefecture and rediscover the natural environment, history, climate, culture, industry, etc. are eligible. 3. Announcements etc. The winning works (approximately 10 works) will be announced in January 2020, the exhibition of selected works will be held from early March 2020, and the announcements and awards for each award will be in mid-March.
