We will focus on presentations in which artists themselves talk about their works, and support them in both improving their ability to talk about their works and strengthening their concepts. In addition to providing highly flexible production support funds to selected artists, we also provide continuous mentoring over an eight-month period with a variety of contemporary art specialists, and provide opportunities to give speeches to contemporary art
professionals in Japan and overseas. By creating this, we will support the international breakthrough of young artists originating from Tokyo. 1. Target field: Art/video Target genres: 2D (paintings, prints, photographs, etc.), 3D (including crafts), video (including animation) 2.Target artists All of the requirements listed in the following items must be met. 1. Individuals living in Japan who wish to be active in the Tokyo art market 2. Be able to participate in the mentoring and presentation opportunities that will be held during the next fiscal year (April to November 2025), including networking events, interim reporting sessions, and presentations. 3. Must be able to communicate in Japanese. (JLPT: N1 equivalent) 4. It has been more than 3 years and less than 10 years since the first activity in the target field* to show works (solo exhibition, etc.) in Tokyo. Or, you must have exhibited your work to the public (solo exhibitions, etc.) in Tokyo no less than 5 times and no more than 10 times. *Art/Video 3.Support details 1. Provision of production support funds We will provide a production support fund (495,000 yen) that can be used for creative work, research, etc. 2. Mentoring program centered around presentations We will conduct continuous dialogue over an eight-month period with the selection committee and mentors, which are made up of contemporary art specialists with diverse backgrounds, including gallerists, artists, collectors, and curators. We support the growth of supported artists by encouraging them to improve their ability to express their works and strengthen their concepts, while also supporting networking with people involved in art and culture both domestically and internationally. 3. Creation of presentation stage “TAAP Live” An opportunity for artists to use their skills to talk about their works to an audience that includes gallerists, curators, and collectors from Japan and abroad by taking advantage of art events held in Tokyo (a place for stage presentations and presentations of results). 4.
