We will inform you about the exhibition that will be held from October to December. ​ From October 19, 2024 (Saturday), the Kyoto National Museum will be presenting “Let’s tour the Kyoto National Museum’s special exhibition “Honen and the Pure Land”, and from November 13, 2024 (Wednesday), the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art will be presenting the “Ishikawa Museum of Art” From December 3rd (Tuesday), the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa will be live streaming the exhibition “Dancing with Everything: An Ecology of Empathy”.

In October, “Let’s tour the Kyoto National Museum’s special exhibition “Honen and the Pure Land” will feature the story of Honen, who faced wars, natural disasters, and epidemics in 2024, the 850th anniversary of the founding of the Jodo sect, and aimed to save all people. This is the first exhibition in history that covers the period from the Kamakura period to the Edo period, and presents treasures related to the area, as well as the art and history of the Jodo sect, one of the major sects of Kamakura Buddhism. We will mainly explain works that were exhibited only at venues in Kyoto, where Honen spent much of his life. In November and December, we will be visiting two exhibitions unique to Ishikawa. In November’s “Let’s tour the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art’s crafts that decorate food,” we will explain the crafts that have been actually used by traditional Japanese restaurants and famous cuisine inns in Kanazawa and Ishikawa, while tasting them with your tongue and enjoying them with your eyes. Enjoy the tradition and future of food culture, which can be called a comprehensive art. The December 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa’s “Dancing with Everything – An Ecology of Empathy” is a special exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the museum’s opening, with the theme of “a new ecology.” With the desire to overcome various problems, artists express the future of
comprehensive ecological theory through their keen sensibilities and observations. Works by contemporary artists Olafur Eliasson and Maria Fernanda Cardoso, as well as artists and creators from Africa, South America, Asia, and Europe and America, will be exhibited, and the museum director will guide you through the exhibition. “Nicobi” allows you to watch for free without requiring membership registration.
