Press release: October 18, 2024 “Masaki Ueda R&B BAND Special Guest: Takashi “Hotoke” Nagai, Junji Yamagishi” performance report has arrived! Performances in May 2025 have also been decided! ! Masaki Ueda turned 75 this July. He continues to evolve, and together with Junji Ariyama, his ally from the South to South era, he is the singer who will lead the next generation of R&B scene, along with Tatsuhiko Hizawa (bass), Tomoharu Hani (keyboard), and Marvin Lenoar (drums)! A special stage where Masaki Ueda delivered Yoshie.N with an R&B band following the chorus. What’s special about it is that Takashi “Hotoke” Nagai and Junji Yamagishi from the West Road Blues Band will appear as special guests.

I’ll give it to you. “Feeling Fine” was recorded live with BB King and Junji Yamagishi joined. “Brickyard blues” and “Taxi” followed, and the final song was “Knock on wood” with Takashi “Hotoke” Nagai. What a gorgeous and deluxe sight and sound unfolded.

Ueda was included in the song “Baby what you want me to do,” which was recorded by Masaki Ueda, and Yoshie.N also joined in to play “Night time is the right time.” “It’s like an after-school club!” he said without thinking, and that kind of atmosphere was present in the world the four of us brought to you. In the second half, he mainly delivered original songs such as “Chikyu ga Abunai”, followed by “Akogare no Kitashinchi” from the South to South era, and “Sad Iro” where he was finally able to sing in his own R&B style. When Junji Ariyama’s version of “Yane~Osaka bay blues~” was delivered to me, I felt the passion of singer Masaki Ueda, who has continued to sing and explore R&B, and his respect for his predecessors, as well as the recognition he has had for half a century. The music scene changed from blues to soul and rock, and various performance techniques evolved along with it. After experiencing and digesting all of this, I was captivated by the performances of the R&B BAND members.

It has also been decided that a live performance will be held at Katsushika Symphony Hills Mozart Hall on Saturday, May 17, 2025. It looks like we’re waiting for another wonderful time to confirm our survival.
