It opened in 2020 as a monkey park where you can interact with and observe up close the approximately 300 Japanese macaques that live in Namachisaki, which is full of nature. Its predecessor was Hagatsuzakien, which opened in 1957, but it was closed in 2019 due to financial difficulties due to a decrease in the number of visitors. Therefore, in order to protect the lives of wild monkeys, Rep Japan Ltd. (Representative Director: Takeshi Shiranawa), which operates “iZoo” and “KawaZoo” in Kawazu Town, was
established. The opening of the park required a huge amount of money to rebuild the aging facilities and feed the monkeys, so we received a lot of support through crowdfunding and were able to revive the wild monkey paradise in Minami Izu.
