Research overview In this research, we collaborated with Professor Daiki Nakata, who is active in the Department of Engineering, Nara Women’s University, to evaluate the spatial cognition ability of elderly people (de.Sukasu Training CATCH), a spatial cognition training system using VR provided by do.Sukasu. We will verify whether higher visual functions (higher visual functions) improve. At the same time, we will explore the effects on general cognitive functions. Target participants are elderly people between the ages of 60 and 85 who will participate in cooperation with the Nara City Silver Human Resources Center, and those with lower than average spatial cognition will be selected in advance. The subjects were divided into two groups, and one group underwent continuous training using “de.Sukasu Training CATCH” for 3 months (15 minutes each time, twice a week, 24 times in total), and the other group You will continue to lead a normal life. The effectiveness of the training will be evaluated and analyzed at the beginning, one month later, and three months later. The research will begin in November, and the results will be summarized after analyzing the effects. Research background and future developments It has been shown that spatial cognitive abilities change with age. The latest research by do.Sukasu shows that people’s abilities decline once in their 40s, and even more markedly in their 60s.
