A unique collaboration between a comprehensive monthly magazine that has been around for over 100 years and the most popular visual media of today. We aim to create content that has never been seen before through the synergistic effect of combining our respective strengths. Bungeishunju was founded in 1923 by writer Hiroshi Kikuchi. A publishing company that publishes magazines such as “Bungei Shunju”, “Weekly Bunshun”, and “Sports Graphic Number”. In 2023, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of our founding (first publication). PIVOT was founded in 2021. We mainly distribute videos related to business through YouTube and our own apps/websites. The official YouTube channel, which started in June 2022, exceeded 2 million subscribers in August 2024, just 2 years and 2 months after its launch. The title of the new program by these two media is “JAPAN FUTURE DISCUSSION.” Manabu Shintani, director of Bungeishunju and general director of Bungeishunju, and Norihiko Sasaki, representative director of PIVOT, will serve as double MCs, inviting key figures from Japan’s leading political and financial officials to discuss the future of Japan and each industry. The first guest was Shinjiro Koizumi, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party’s campaign committee. Mr. Shintani and Mr. Sasaki delved into Mr. Koizumi’s thinking regarding the presidential election in September this year, the House of Representatives election at the end of this month, and the future beyond that. The first part of the program will be distributed on PIVOT’s official YouTube channel, app, and website. The second part will be distributed on the official YouTube channel of “Bungei Shunju Electronic Edition” and the electronic version site. Distribution is scheduled to be once a month.
