Special exhibition “History of travel and an invitation to nature through the mountains of Hanno” flyer image (front) The Hanno City Museum is holding a special exhibition, “History of travel through the mountains of Hanno and an invitation to nature,” from Sunday, October 13, 2020 to Sunday, December 8, 2020. Reiwa 6 Special Exhibition “History of travel and an invitation to nature through the mountains of Hanno” (Museum homepage) Approximately 80% of Hanno City’s area is mountainous, making it a rugged city. There is a history of roads being built over the mountains, and many people passing through them and interacting with each other. In addition, the mountaintop sacred place, which is remote from the human population and stands in close contact with nature, has become an object of worship, and has become a destination for not only worshipers but also various literary figures and artists to visit. On the other hand, mountain topography is formed based on its geology and rocks, and the landscape has been impressed on people by the vegetation, mainly trees. This exhibition explores the charm of the Oku-Musashi mountains, which have changed over time, from the fields of humanities and nature. We hope that everyone who visits the museum will discover a new appeal of the “Mountains of Hanno” while imagining what the mountain once looked like, which is different from what it is now. ・Period October 13th (Sunday) – December 8th (Sunday), 2020 Closed: Every Monday (except October 14th and November 4th) October 15th (Tuesday), November 5th (Tuesday) ・Opening hours 9:00-17:00 ・Venue Hanno City Museum Special Exhibition Room/Exhibition Hall During the period, there will be lectures on the origin of the name Oku-Musashi and the geological history of the city, on-site tours of Mt.
