Takahama City Ceramics Village Kawara Art Museum and Library (Aichi Prefecture) will be holding an art appreciation exhibition called “Sashisu Seso” from November 30th (Saturday). This exhibition, with the theme of “appreciation,” will introduce approximately 70 works from our museum’s collection. The title “Sashisu Seso” is used as a pun to remember the order of seasonings, etc., but in this exhibition, it is used as a hint for the perspective of art appreciation: sa = work, shi = color surface, s = sketch, se = I classified it as line drawing and imagination. Take a close look at the work from a new perspective Kiyoshi Toyama “(Landscape with a Woman)” (circa 1933) is Color surface is the key to appreciation. In this work, the arch of an old tree separates the colored surfaces and guides the eye to a quiet rural landscape. The soft tones skillfully express light and shadow. Kuei Shimizu’s “PACK-14” is Imagination is the point of appreciation. This work consists of an aluminum cylinder covered with a distorted ceramic cylinder. The artist uses his imagination to take advantage of the characteristics of the material and actively incorporates the distortions that occur during the production process in order to pursue unique forms. Oil paintings, calligraphy, sculptures…you can enjoy a variety of art This exhibition will display approximately 70 pieces carefully selected from the museum’s collection, mainly by local artists, regardless of era or technique. One of the unique ways to enjoy this exhibition is that you can view works from various genres such as oil paintings, calligraphy, and sculpture at the same time. Experience an attempt to rediscover the charm and rich worldview of works of art using the keyword “sashisu seso” to think about works of art. Main exhibited works
