The Miss World Japan pageant, one of the world’s most prestigious pageants that focuses on improving the dignity and status of women by working to solve problems in each country, will be held on October 2, 2024. Yura Tagen of Okayama University Global Discovery Program has been selected as the runner-up to represent Japan in Miss World! Mr. Tagen was awarded a double award with the TBS Voice Award. Currently, Mr. Tagen is mainly studying cultural anthropology and sociology in the Global Discovery Program. “More than half of my classmates are international students, and in this department, I am exposed to different sensibilities and diversity every day to expand my horizons.Also, I love beautiful things, so I have been studying classical ballet since I was young. I have learned various arts such as chorus, vocal music, and musicals, and have acquired the ability to express myself,” adding, “I have met many people from different cultures and backgrounds, and I have realized the importance of understanding each other. ” he appealed.
