Le Pain Quotidien, a bakery cafe from Belgium, will launch with a new concept from Friday, November 1, 2024. While maintaining the commitment to organic and healthy menus that we have developed so far, we will embody the new concept of “The Taste of Living Better” and contribute to a healthier and richer life. The menu lineup will evolve. “Le Pain Quotidien” is a global brand with 220 stores in 21 countries around the world, including 3 stores in Japan, Paris, London, and New York. It is a popular restaurant with a warm interior and a relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy meals. We have been pursuing simple, high-quality bread and dishes that you can continue to enjoy. In line with this new concept, we are expanding our menu lineup to be both delicious and healthy, with the aim of realizing a “Better Choice” that is not just delicious. “Food” is the body’s energy source and is essential for maintaining mental and physical health. By providing “better options” from a perspective unique to Le Pain Quotidien, we aim to contribute to enriching lifestyles. ■New menu standards for healthy meals Under the supervision of a
nutritionist, we have established six new nutritional standards necessary for building a healthy body, based on the nutritional framework “Planetary Health Diet” developed by 37 scientists from 16 countries. Additionally, menus that meet five of the six criteria will be marked with a “Better Choices” mark. [6 criteria] 1. Plant protein: 50% or more of total protein per serving 2. Fruits & Vegetables: 80g or more per serving 3. Nuts & Seeds: At least 5g per serving 4. Dietary fiber: 7g or more per serving 5. Sugar: less than 10% of total calories per serving 6. Unsaturated fatty acids: less than 10% of total calories per serving

Bread made with hemp seeds, which are rich in dietary fiber and protein and attracting attention as a superfood in Europe and America, and sourdough made with rice flour and soybean flour to reduce the proportion of wheat and slow fermented. The original flatbread will also make its global debut. Some of the popular “Tartine” menu items also use pimp bread, and the menu has evolved into a healthy and colorful menu that uses new ingredients rich in dietary fiber and vitamins, such as quinoa.
