This time, artist SHUN SUDO has teamed up with the beloved American men’s professional basketball league, the NBA, and NEW ERA(R), a headwear and apparel brand that has been loved by many people along with street culture since its founding in 1920. We will announce the name collaboration cap. SHUN SUDO, a self-taught artist, has a delicate touch that combines the movement and movement of an ink painting, motifs and colors inherited from Japanese and American pop street culture, and sensibilities gained while traveling the world. In recent years, he has been attracting attention from around the world for his unconventional methods of expression, while expanding the range of his activities. It was the first time in my life that I watched an NBA game locally. New York Knicks vs. Orlando Magic. The venue, the team, and the players I’ve seen many times on TV. But what I saw in the NBA was far beyond my imagination. Surprisingly large men run at incredible speeds, jump to incredible heights, and slam their bodies into each other. I remember that the court seemed very small, perhaps because I was overwhelmed by its power. A dream was born through watching the NBA. One day, I would like to design a logo for an NBA team. 25 years have passed since then, and my job is to draw. Although my dream of designing an NBA team logo has not come true, I now have a chance to express my feelings for the NBA by designing a collaboration cap between NEW ERA(R) and the NBA. In order to win, 10 men put all their bodies, techniques, and pride on the line as they compete for a single ball and score points. Their play gives us strength in life. The NBA has given me countless amounts of passion, imagination, and strength to believe in the future.
