“manufacturing” with four office workers living outside the town who had diverse skills, experience, and ideas. After fieldwork and online meetings during the program, we finally decided, “Let’s make crab cream croquettes made by crab makers!” and held a tasting event at the program’s final results presentation event. We conducted a taste comparison with Kajima’s representative “Snow Crab Croquette” and found that 54 out of 69 tasters said they “wanted to buy the crab cream croquette more.”

Since the beginning of this year, a full-scale meeting has been held within Kajima regarding the sale of crab cream croquettes. Initially, we were thinking of selling it for a limited time as suggested by the project team, but we ended up hearing from people who ate it at the festival asking, “When will you sell it next?” We value such feedback and decided to sell our products year-round, saying, “We want people to eat our food whenever they come to Kajima!” After repeatedly prototyping and improving the product until the summer, and approximately 1 year and 10 months after participating in the community development program, it has been decided that it will go on sale on Sunday, November 17th, when this year’s Oarai Anko Festival will be held.

Since opening the delicatessen store in December 2011, I’ve been making about 10 pieces by hand every day. Even though there was a factory next door, I had no idea about “freezing”. We have been making improvements every day by tasting samples with our staff and listening to feedback from customers. We opened our stalls at various events, and when the product became popular, we started selling crab miso cream croquettes in response to people’s desire to eat crab cream croquettes with béchamel sauce. did. When a customer says, “It was delicious,” I respond, “Thank you. I’ll do my best to make it even better next time.” I love thinking about how to make my customers happy. Then, we created “Snow Crab Cream Croquette Kiwami” that we wanted to make even more people happy. We want to deliver delicious smiles to our customers… Please enjoy the “Snow Crab Croquette Kiwami” made with all the heart by all the staff at Kajima. ◯Comment from Chihagi Kajima, Manager of Deli Kajima I’ve always wanted to create a product together with Kajima fans. Under such circumstances, I participated in the town development program organized by Oarai Quest. Although it was a short period of three months, I felt that this was a full-fledged development meeting through interactions with the manufacturing team members and customers. I think we were able to commercialize this product because of Kajima’s deep involvement with Kajima, and because we received a lot of feedback that they were looking forward to the product’s completion. The thoughts of all the fans and Team Kajima come together as one, and the exquisite “Snow Crab Cream Croquette Kiwami” that we have carefully created will become a luxurious moment for those who are working hard every day, and it will give them even a little energy for tomorrow. I would be happy if you could. May you be filled with lots of “delicious” smiles!
