They honed their skills by producing a variety of wooden products, and in the 1960s began selling their own wooden furniture. Advocating a manufacturing concept of “high-tech & high-touch,” which combines advanced mechanical technology and craftsmanship, the company built a foundation in the wood production field and grew to become one of Japan’s leading wooden furniture manufacturers. @karimoku_official ~ Toward sustainable manufacturing ~ The wood used in Karimoku furniture is sourced from 30 forests across the country and some regions overseas. Most of the wood we use is oak and chestnut wood, which are considered useful for making furniture, but we also procure wood that is generally considered unsuitable for making furniture. “Making furniture from a variety of woods” is the form of “coexistence with the forest” that wooden furniture manufacturer Karimoku Furniture considers.
