It is a place at the cutting edge of culture and has had a great influence on Japanese culture in later generations. Obai-in, Kōrin-in, and Soken-in are open to the public every spring and fall, and visitors from all over the country flock to see them during the tourist season. Many visitors gather and it is lively. In addition, “Mibu-dera”, which is known for Jizo worship, Mibu Kyogen, and Shinsengumi, will be open from April 26th (Sat) to May 5th (Monday, holiday) in conjunction with the Mibu Kyogen performed every year during Golden Week. The main hall, which is normally closed to the public, the garden, which is a registered cultural property of Kyoto City, and the temple’s treasures will be open to the public for a special time. This year, there will be a special exhibition of temple treasures with the theme of “Jizo worship at Mibu-dera Temple.” During the pleasant spring season, forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend a luxurious time admiring the fresh greenery. 2025 Spring Special Opening Temple Introduction Daitokuji Temple Obaiin This temple is associated with the feudal lords of the Sengoku period, as it was founded by Oda Nobunaga and later expanded by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It is also famous for its “Direct Courtyard,” which is said to have been created by Sen no Rikyu when he was 66 years old.
