In response to increased interest in “business and human rights” around the world in recent years, efforts are underway such as public procurement by local governments, the formulation of guidelines by industry organizations, and the implementation of human rights due diligence by companies. In particular, in order to become a
sustainable company, companies are required to behave in a way that respects human rights in a variety of situations, including the recruitment and retention of human resources, relationships with business partners, and the perspective of investors. However, what is “business and human rights”? I’m sure there are many companies who are interested but are worried, such as, “Who should I ask now?” In order to work together with these companies, the National Federation of Social Insurance and Labor Consultant Associations (Chairman: Minoru Ohno) (hereinafter referred to as the “Federation”) is a social insurance labor consultant promoting “Business and Human Rights” (hereinafter referred to as “BHR Promotion Social Insurance Labor Consultant*”). He will be speaking on stage and holding training sessions (seminar) on “Business and Human Rights” for companies across the country with the cooperation of the ILO Japan Office. This seminar will be held as part of the ILO project “Building Responsible Value Chains in Asia: Through the Promotion of Decent Work in Business Activities” funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. As experts who work with companies on management that respects human rights, our association promotes initiatives related to respect for human rights, such as training social and labor consultants who promote BHR.
*BHR promotion social and labor consultants are social and labor
consultants who are well-versed in “business and human rights” and have completed all of the training sessions on “business and human rights” created by the ILO Japan Office with technical cooperation. Click here for the Federation’s “Business and Human Rights”
