The forest is dotted with various ruins, including a 3,000-year-old sacred tree and a cave where the famous monk Gyoki entered the mountain 1,300 years ago and enshrined his 500 Arhats. There are also ruins that were built in modern times but are no longer in use due to slight changes in time. Mifuneyama’s history and forest have continued for a long time, crossing different time axes. In this exhibition, teamLab aims to become a part of history and nature and reconnect with time and the world by immersing yourself in the ruined art in the sauna that stands there. The medicinal herbs used in the “Medicinal Herbal Steam Sauna” are collected by local people in the surrounding area and mixed by Mr. Shunichi Matsuo, a tea master from Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture. Surrounded by an original blend of medicinal steam, you can enjoy the scent of medicinal herbs collected from rich nature. Additionally, the cold water bath adjacent to the herbal steam sauna uses Mifuneyama’s soft natural water.
