Calligrapher singer Tomochika890 (Yakkun) Calligrapher and singer Tomochika890 (Yakkun) will finally complete his 10th lap around Japan with a live performance at Kiyomitsu Home, a facility for people with disabilities in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Tomochika890 (Yakkun) has visited facilities for the elderly, facilities for the disabled, schools, nursery schools, etc. in 47 prefectures nationwide, bringing smiles to many people through calligraphy performances and live music. Furthermore, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, to commemorate the 10th lap in Japan, we are planning to hold a “Thank You Concert for 10th lap in Japan” in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, our hometown. The activity was triggered by a live performance in the areas affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake was the impetus for our activities to perform live music across the country. After the earthquake, I was feeling helpless and worried about what I could do, when I received a call from the Ehime Prefecture Tokyo Office asking me to perform as a volunteer in the disaster area. With that one phone call, and with the determination to “deliver songs” to my heart, I took the first step toward delivering songs and smiles all over Japan. Since then, they have continued to perform live music, visiting facilities for the elderly, facilities for the disabled, schools, nursery schools, etc. in 47 prefectures across Japan. Recently, he has been actively performing live at nursery schools and children’s events, and is also very popular as a “singing brother.” To date, we have visited more than 2,200
facilities, delivering songs and smiles to more than 120,000 people.
