participated in the lecture and deepened their understanding of the profession of a researcher. ■Connection between Professor Tanaka and ID Academy ID Gakuen provides an environment where students can develop their dreams based on their interests and strengths, and take on challenges towards their dreams and goals. In order to focus on inquiry activities, which is one of these initiatives, we have welcomed Professor Tanaka from this year and are implementing ID Gakuen’s original inquiry-based learning program “ID Inquiry” by Professor Tanaka. Professor Tanaka continues to deeply inspire his students through both his teaching and research. ■“Dream Career Live” opens up the future of students

This program invites specialists from various industries and provides an opportunity to hear directly from them about the rewarding nature of their jobs and their views on the profession. Professor Tanaka’s lecture focused on the qualities necessary for the profession of a researcher and how one should develop one’s career. The professor particularly emphasized that “an attitude of continuing to explore problems” and “a spirit of not being afraid of failure” are important for researchers. He also encouraged the students to do research activities, improve their presentation skills, and strengthen their academic writing as things they can do now. The students had the opportunity to think deeply about their future dreams and learned how to prepare for a career as a researcher. At the end of his lecture, Professor Tanaka said, “Being a researcher requires determination,” encouraging the students to make the determination to pursue their own path. ID Gakuen will continue to support our students in realizing their dreams and provide them with opportunities to explore a variety of careers. ■Results of ID exploration in business contest

This contest is an opportunity for high school students to formulate and present business ideas that aim to solve social problems. Through the cultivation of coriander on abandoned farmland, Mr. Sawada is trying to solve social problems such as young people leaving agriculture and a decline in food self-sufficiency. I proposed a project to solve the problem. Mr. Sawada is involved in the cultivation himself and is working diligently to make the project a reality. This award symbolizes the results of ID Gakuen’s inquiry-based learning. Mr. Sawada is working enthusiastically to further refine his plan for the next business contest and to provide an agricultural experience through coriander. ■“Chairman’s Lecture” scheduled to be held on November 26th at Suidobashi Campus The school’s president (Miki Watanabe), who is the founder and current manager of a prime company and has experience as a member of the Diet, will tell you the importance of having dreams and how to make them come true. ■About ID Gakuen High School Ikubunkan Yume Gakuen, an educational corporation that operates Ikubunkan Junior High School, Ikubunkan High School, and Ikubunkan Global High School, has been offering ID Gakuen since April 2020 as the “fourth school education” following full-time, part-time, and correspondence schools. We have opened a high school and are taking on the challenge of realizing a new type of Japanese high school education.
