[Background to the mobile workshop] Our company is a factory that makes items such as bags and wallets in Japan for over 40 years since its establishment. We usually carry out OEM production and original brands upon request from domestic brands. When we started our business, most of the work we received was from manufacturers, and we wondered what kind of people were using the products. I was working without thinking about it. However, these days, as time passes, distribution changes greatly, and people say, “This is no good!” ” and started the original brand artigiano in 2009, we started selling at retail stores across the country, and since 2017 we have been selling online, which has been well received by many people and has continued to this day. However, despite our theme of “manufacturing close to customers”, we felt that we were not able to sell our products in the way we had hoped. We participate in leather PR events such as the Japan Leather Fair, as well as events held at department stores across the country, but due to regulations and space
constraints, I feel that we are not able to express our specialty, “manufacturing.” Now it looks like this. I thought that even if I sold wholesale to a physical store, only a few people who lived nearby would see it, so I thought it would be a good idea to move there ourselves. We created a small mobile workshop by customizing a car that fit our image because we couldn’t get people to see our specialty, manufacturing, through mere mobile sales.
