Since 2021, Mainichi Shimbun has been supporting companies in the Tokyo metropolitan area to practice workation in Nagasaki Prefecture as a Nagasaki Prefecture project. In addition, since 2020, Mainichi Mirai Sozo Lab Co., Ltd., a member of the group, has been collaborating with local governments across the country to develop a “parent-child workcation” business where children work while traveling. The culmination of such co-creation between the Mainichi Shimbun Group and local governments in Nagasaki Prefecture was selected for the Japan Tourism Agency’s workation promotion project. A parent-child workday targeting employees of companies in the Tokyo metropolitan area will begin in the remote island of Goto City from Sunday, November 10th to Thursday, November 14th, 2024, followed by Sasebo City in late November and Nagasaki City in December. We will hold this event and strive to promote the acceptance of parent-child workdays in Nagasaki Prefecture for corporate corporations.
